The implementation of any preventive or protective measures should follow the principles of hierarchy of prevention and control measures. The responsible person should establish the relevant fire procedures and make employees aware of them by giving appropriate instructions and trainings.  Records must be kept of any changes or arrangements. The responsible person must ensure that dangerous substances are eliminated or replaced and where it is not possible, control measures are applied. It must be ensured that premises are equipped with appropriate fire-fighting equipment, fire detection and alarms and there is a suitable system of routine inspection, testing, servicing and maintenance of fire safety systems and equipment.
